The Teeny Awards, a recognition program for Eastern Suffolk high school theater presented by East End Arts, announced its 2016 nominees on Wednesday, May 4.

Volunteer judges rate student actors on their movement and delivery, and, for musicals, also their singing and dancing skills. The students with the top ratings became the nominees.

The winners will be revealed at the 2016 Teeny Awards—modeled after Broadway’s Tony Awards—taking place Sunday, June 5, at Shoreham-Wading River High School with a red carpet at 1:30 p.m. and ceremony at 3 p.m. hosted by WBAZ radio personality Walker Vreeland.
