author on Mar 22, 2019

Long Island Invasive Species Management Area will hold the LIISMA Invasive Species Conference from April 24 to 25 with trainings and presentations on invasive species management.

The conference begins with a poster session at the Great South Bay Brewery in Bay Shore on Wednesday, April 24. Jeff Picher, an arborologist with Rainbow Tree Care Scientific Advancements, will present on the spotted lanternfly at 5 p.m.

The conference will continue on Thursday, April 25, at Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood. Topics of will include Invasive Species in the Urban Environment, Citizen Scientist Projects, Aquatic & Terrestrial Invasive Species, and Methods for Controlling Invasives.

Continuing educating units will be offered.

Admission is $85 for the public and $35 for students and exhibitors. Seating is limited. For more information, visit liisma.org.
