A shark sighting in Bridgehampton? Don’t worry, it appears to be swimming away. In any case, in this instance we’re talking about Rohan Oza, who has appeared on the popular TV show “Shark Tank” and is known as the “Hollywood Brandfather.” He has just sold his house in the hamlet for a handsome $8,250,000.
We’re told that the manse at 150 Mid Ocean Drive on Mecox Bay and across from the ocean “offers everything you ever wanted from a beach house,” which apparently means having 7 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, large and open living spaces, oversized heated pool, tennis court, a dock on the bay, and all of this is just 400 feet from “one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with magical breath-taking views from every angle.” The residence is 6,000 square feet and the property is 1.4 acres.
Mr. Oza—born and raised in Zambia and of Indian descent—is regarded as a global pioneer in celebrity equity deals, and as such he has appeared on “Squawk Box,” “Power Pitch,” “Closing Bell with Liz Clayman,” as well as “Shark Tank.” In 2002, after six years at the Coca-Cola Company, he became a partner and chief marketing officer of the beverage company Glaceau. There he built the brands Vitaminwater and Smartwater by teaming up with such thirsty celebrities as Jennifer Aniston, 50 Cent, LeBron James and Tom Brady. Five years after he left it, the Coca-Cola Company purchased Glaceau for $4.1 billion.
Having begun his career working in an M&Ms factory in the British industrial town of Slough, Mr. Oza is now heading efforts to promote the products Vita Coco, Pop Chips and Bai. The latter, an antioxidant drink, is now valued at $500 million. Presumably, if he wants to buy a different house in Bridgehampton, he can do it.
