East End Arts & Humanities Council, Inc. (EEA) presents its third annual “DETOUR” art exhibition with curators Glen Hansen and Adam Straus bringing 13 internationally recognized artists into two downtown Riverhead galleries, EEA Art Gallery and 11 West Gallery. The show runs May 29 to August 27, and it opens with a reception on Saturday, June 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. where visitors can meet the artists and curators,

“DETOUR III” features works by Steven Assael, Isadora Capraro, James Croak, Glen Hansen, Kate Maracle, Scott McIntire, Cheryl Molnar, Nancy Muller, Mimi Saltzman, Adam Straus, Chris Weller, Charles Wildban and John Wittenberg. The curation strives to bring a unique gallery experience to the East End, and each year presents new artists and mediums.

“Riverhead is the nexus of the Forks, and the East End Arts galleries are great spaces to show art. It’s a perfect cocktail of accessibility to exceptional art, no matter which direction you are going — take a detour to the Arts District,” said Hansen, who also runs the Glen Hansen Studio gallery in Southold.

“DETOUR III” is open for viewing on Sunday, May 29, during EEA’s Mosaic Street Painting Festival from noon to 5 p.m. The EEA Art Gallery is located at 133 East Main Street, and the 11 West Gallery is located at 11 West Main Street, Peconic Crossing, both are in Riverhead. The galleries are free and open to the public. Private tours can be arranged by emailing gallery@eastendarts.org. For details call 631-727-0900 or visit eastendarts.org.
