Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will host “Joplin’s Pearl,” a tribute concert to the late Janis Joplin on Saturday, October 1, at 8 p.m. With an evening of songs from the Woodstock era, Amber Ferrari’s Joplin promises to transport audiences back to 1969.

Ferrari’s show is a full theater production with vintage attire and an eight-piece band including a horn section. Audiences are encouraged to get into the spirit of the era and wear their 1960s garb to create a seamless transition back into the Summer of Love.

Tickets are on sale starting at $35 and are available at baystreet.org or by calling the Box Office at 631-725-9500, open Tuesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

That’s particularly true in the context of the Sag Harbor Whaling & Historical Museum’s existing annual levy, and its recent request to more than double it to $125,000 a year. But with the new request, it might be time for the school district, and Sag Harbor as a ... 1 May 2024 by Editorial Board
