After a two-year hiatus, SouthamptonFest is back and from Friday, September 30, to Sunday, October 2, offers arts, crafts, music, pumpkin carvers and more.

The weekend begins Friday with a cocktail party sponsored by the Southampton Rotary Club in Agawam Park and live music by Coverland, complimentary beer and wine from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a cash bar until 9:30 p.m. Tickets $30 at southamptonrotary.org ($40 at the door).

Saturday is filled with happenings. Next Level Band and Gene Casey and The Lone Sharks perform in Agawam Park, and a chowder contest will feature entries from local restaurants and caterers, as well as food trucks offering dishes. Dance lessons for all ages and abilities, kids’ activities including Jester Jim performances, face-painting and balloon animals, will be sponsored by The Rogers Memorial Library/Friends of the Library. The Maniac Pumpkin Carvers and musicians will perform on Main Street and restaurants will offer fall-themed specials. Southampton Ice Rink will set up a synthetic rink for kids to shoot hockey pucks.

A special Art + Design Walk takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and encompasses select shops and art galleries in the village. Pick up cards at the Chamber of Commerce or any participating store or gallery, get the card marked at each stop and enter to win a grand prize package that includes a one-year membership to the Southampton Arts Center (SAC), a private group tour of the Peter Marino Art Foundation (redeemable next summer), artwork from Rumrunner Home, design services from Francis Keane Designs, an Argentinian throw blanket from Homenature, and a bag of gifts from local artisans provided by Sea Green Designs.

Experience the horrors of a haunted Gilded Age mansion at Southampton History Museuem’s “Ghosts, Goblins and Ghouls,” then stop by the First Presbyterian Church where Heart of the Hamptons co-hosts a petting zoo, games and family fun and pick up cards for a Family Scavenger Hunt which leads kids though the village in search of prizes.

The Southampton Artists Association will have work on display and for sale on Saturday and Sunday. The Southampton African American Museum invites guests to experience a digital tapestry and exhibit of “Grooming A Generation: A History of Black Barbershops & Beauty Parlors” with an augmented reality tour celebrating the history of barbering in the African American community (reserve at saamuseum.org).

Southampton Arts Center’s new exhibition “A Celebration of Trees,” opens Saturday with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Musician Tom Wall offers an outdoor performance at SAC at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Southampton Cultural Center holds its 6th Annual “Wine and Roses” Gala from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring dinner, wine, cocktails, entertainment, and a silent auction (tickets at scc-arts.org).
