East End singer/songwriter, bandleader and musician Nancy Atlas will be producing an evening of live music at the historic Old Whalers’ (First Presbyterian) Church in Sag Harbor on Saturday, July 22, starting at 7 p.m. with an opening set by PasserBy.

It turns out that Atlas has a special connection to PasserBy, which is a band made up of East Hampton High School students who are all part of the school’s jazz band. The drummer of the group is Cash Muse, the son of Nancy Atlas and Thomas Muse. PasserBy made its debut opening for Atlas at The Stephen Talkhouse in April and recently played a set at The Surf Lodge in Montauk.

Also joining Nancy Atlas and her full band (Johnny Blood, Brett King, Joe Delia, Denny McDermott and Greg McMullen) on stage will be her husband, Thomas Muse, who is a bandleader, guitarist and lead singer with another popular local band, Jettykoon. Thomas Muse completes the family part of the show and will be performing on stage with Atlas, but there will be other special guest friends joining in the fun as well. As longtime fans have come to learn, you never know exactly which fellow musicians Nancy Atlas will call up on stage during her show, but close friend and fellow singer/songwriter Inda Eaton is definitely on the list for the July 22 show.

Atlas calls this special Sag Harbor appearance “A night for the books! A family affair with several special guests in one of Sag Harbor’s oldest churches. A do not miss show — looking forward to seeing everyone there.”

Tickets are $40 for general admission and $75 for VIP reserved seats in the front pews and available at the door and online at nancyatlaslivejuly22.eventbrite.com. The First Presbyterian (Old Whalers’) Church is at 44 Union Street, Sag Harbor.
