Celebrating Creatives of Color

The 4th annual “Celebrating Creatives of Color” returns on Sunday, August 25, from noon to 4 p.m., and for the first time will be hosted at The Church in Sag Harbor. The event will showcase work by about 25 creative artists and authors of color from Sag Harbor and beyond, and provide an opportunity for artists and authors to display their art and interact with other art enthusiasts and collectors. All artwork and books will be for sale. The event benefits the Southampton African American Museum and The Church.

At 1 p.m. Sheri Pasquarella, The Church’s executive director, will be joined by fine art advisor Susan Randolph for a tour highlighting art in the show. At 2 p.m., there will be a reading by selected authors followed by a book signing.

Among the artists and writers participating in the event are: Dr. Linda Anderson, Joan Wallace-Benjamin, PhD, Akili Buchanan, Michael Butler, Jeremy Dennis, Brianna Hernandez, Denise Silva-Dennis, Katherine Brown Drucker, Harold A. Dow, Beverly Granger, Brenda Greene, Noel Hankin, Judith Henriques-Adams, Sunny Hostin, Jennifer Ivey, Rod Ivey, Michael Jelks, Saleem Abdal-Khaaliq, Barry Mason, Paula James Nailor, John Pinderhughes, Victoria Pinderhughes, Shawn Rhea, Olney Marie Ryland, Ermani Silva, Kamoy Smalling, Sharon van Liempt and Darlene Williams.

Admission to the event is a suggested cash donation of $5 at the door. The Church is at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor. Visit thechurchsagharbor.org for details.

Fourth Annual Creativity Conference at The Church

On Saturday, April 5, The Church will host its fourth annual Creativity Conference.
