Feel the Groove: Joy Jan Jones Brings Jazz Vibes to East Hampton Library

Joy Jan Jones, a seasoned performer who has appeared at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, will present a one-night concert at the East Hampton Library on Friday, August 1, at 6 p.m.

Jones, an award-winning vocalist, will perform a selection of well-known jazz standards accompanied by her band, The Fiancés. The group features Bobby Peterson on keyboards, Tom Khiloury on guitar, Mike Pitocchi on string bass, and Fitzy on percussion.

A recording artist and songwriter since age 12, Jones also serves as associate music director and principal cantor at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton. She holds a bachelor of music degree in performance from Sam Houston University and a master of music degree from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

Her notable roles include “Marenka” in “The Bartered Bride,” “Eurydice” in “Orpheus and the Underworld,” “Fiordiligi” in “Così fan tutte,” and “Christine Daaé” in “Phantom of the Opera.”

The concert is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Baldwin Room at the East Hampton Library. Reservations are encouraged at 631-324-0222 ext. 3 or registering on Eventbrite. East Hampton Library is at 159 Main Street in East Hampton.
