June will see the return of two of Southampton Arts Center’s (SAC) critical fundraising initiatives — the sixth annual Architecture + Design Brunch and Tour and the third annual cocktail party, “Whimsy in the Garden.” In addition to other events, SAC’s current exhibition, “A Moment in Time: Iconic Images by Harry Benson,” curated by Sally Martin Katz, is open Friday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Southampton Arts Center, located at 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton. To register for events, visit southamptonartscenter.org.

Here’s what’s on deck at SAC this month:

Studio: Figure Drawing Workshop – Fridays, June 2, 9, 23 and 30, at 1 p.m.

Working from a live model, artist Linda Capello’s figure drawing workshop will explore techniques of line, mass, gesture, proportion, and foreshortening, starting with short poses and working towards one long pose. Limited availability. Registration is required.

Live: Job’s Pub Piano Bar Night – Friday, June 9, at 7 p.m.

For one night only, Southampton Arts Center will become an East End version of a New York City piano bar. Whether you are a singer or just a lover of musicals, you won’t want to miss an enjoyable evening of song and socializing at “Job’s Pub Piano Bar.”

Benefit: Architecture + Design Brunch | Tour – Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m.

This exclusive event explores the modern evolution of shingle style architecture. Join SAC for brunch, an architectural panel, and a tour of three Southampton Village homes that express the modern shingle style. Featuring Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Kligerman Architecture & Design, and John David Rose Architects, P.C. AIA.

Kids: Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band – Tuesday, June 20 and 27, various times.

Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band provides high energy and engaging music classes for kids birth to 4 years old. Driven by playful musicality and skillful guitar work, sessions are about having fun in pressure-free and comforting atmosphere, helping kids gain confidence. Using the music to lead the way, a bandleader will help kids jam along on instruments, use various props for activities, read song-based books, learn sign language, do animal-play, and of course clap, dance and sing along.

Benefit: “Whimsy in the Garden” Cocktail Party – Saturday, June 24, at 6 p.m.

Welcome summer while strolling the sculpture garden and toasting Southampton Arts Center’s 10th Anniversary. Enjoy summer cocktails, gourmet fare and swing jazz. This is the perfect opportunity to support an institution that brings vitality to SAC’s beloved village.
