Kanye West Pulls Out Of Watermill Center Benefit

author on Jul 29, 2016

Kanye West won’t be appearing at the Watermill Center this weekend after all.

A representative for Robert Wilson’s avant-garde arts center in Water Mill confirmed Friday that Mr. West is no longer attending the 23rd annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit & Auction on Saturday, July 30. Mr. West had been slated to present a collaborative art installation he was designing with Mr. Wilson.

The event, with the theme “Fada: House of Madness” this year, will present new works by the center’s Summer International Program participants, who come from more than 25 countries. Additionally, the Brooklyn-based Bruce High Quality Foundation arts collective will collaborate with the center for the first time to present “As We Lay Dying,” a set of more than 40 performances and installations that will be scattered throughout the center’s 8.5-acre grounds.
