authorStaff Writer on Dec 4, 2023

After a roaring success last year, The Suffolk is returning with the biggest New Year’s Eve party on the East End. The Suffolk 54 New Year’s Eve on Sunday, December 31, at 10 p.m. is a throwback to the disco days of Studio 54 and music by Long Island’s favorite disco group That 70’s Band. Partygoers can dance their way into the new year with the music of Earth Wind and Fire, The Commodores, Donna Summer, KC and the Sunshine Band, Chic, Bee Gees and so many more.

The night will feature an open dance floor, hats, noisemakers and streamers, exclusive one-night-only menu offerings and specialty cocktails available to purchase. There will also be a live-stream of the Times Square Ball Drop and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

Tickets are $125, plus applicable fees, at thesuffolk.org. Suffolk Theater is at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead.

Painterly Processes With Silkscreen

From commercial designs to fine art editions, the applications of silkscreen printing are vast. Traditionally a stencil-based process, silkscreen can allow for a design or composition to be reprinted indefinitely as an artist’s edition, or by varying color, placement and materials, can produce monoprints with uniquely experimental results. On Wednesday and Thursday, September 25 and 26, from noon to 4 p.m., The Church will host “Painterly Processes With Silkscreen,” a workshop led by artist Susan Bachemin that offers an introduction to the process while also exploring the medium from an artistic perspective.
