Acclaimed violinist Miranda Cuckson and pianist Blair McMillen will perform at The Church on Sunday, November 9, at 3 p.m. The duo will present a program including works by Eleonor Alberga, Lili Boulanger, Ross Lee Finney, Beethoven and Prokofiev, offering audiences a “sonic journey,” according to the venue.

Cuckson and McMillen have performed internationally and in the U.S., including recitals at San Francisco Performances, the Isabella Gardner Museum, and the Detroit Institute of Art. Their recordings have garnered critical acclaim, including a 2016 ECM release of music by Béla Bartók, Witold Lutosławsk and Alfred Schnittke.

Cuckson, a violinist and violist, has been recognized for her combination of precision, elegance and passionate intensity. She has performed as a soloist with ensembles including the Vienna Musikverein, U.C. Davis Orchestra, and at festivals such as Ojai, Wien Modern, and Le GuessWho. She is a core member of the American Modern Opera Company and founder of the nonprofit Nunc.

McMillen, a pianist, is known for his advocacy of contemporary music and living composers. He has performed with the American Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and on tours including a U.S. State Department-sponsored tour of Brazil. McMillen co-directs the Rite of Summer Music Festival on New York City’s Governors Island and serves on the piano and collaborative piano faculty at Mannes at The New School.

Tickets are $30 ($25 for members) at thechurchsagharbor.org. The Church is at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor.
