Dennis Oppenheim
Dennis Oppenheim, 72, a pioneering conceptual artist and sculptor, died Friday, January 28, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan.
He moved to New York in 1966 and had homes in Manhattan and Springs.
His work is the subject of many surveys and retrospectives in the United States and in Europe, and is represented in museum collections around the world.
Jean Halliday
Jean Halliday, 86, of Amagansett died Sunday, January 30.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 5, at 11 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Church, also in East Hampton.
William C. Schellinger, Jr.
William C. Schellinger Jr., 54, of East Hampton died Monday, January 31.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and East End Hospice.
Bernice Smith
Bernice Smith, 85, of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, died at University Hospital at Stony Brook on Friday, January 28.
Visiting hours took place Wednesday, February 2, at Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, February 3, at 1 p.m. at the Shinnecock Presbyterian Church; Reverend Michael Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Shinnecock Cemetery.
William Logan
William Logan, 87, of Sag Harbor died at the Westhampton Care Center on Monday, January 24.
A funeral Mass took place at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor on Wednesday, January 26, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
Judith Tomlinson Warner
Judith Tomlinson Warner of Southampton died at home on Tuesday, February 1.
Visiting hours were held Wednesday, February 2 at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home. A parish prayer service was held that afternoon. A funeral Mass will be today, Thursday, February 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. A private cremation will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches.
Muriel E. Barzelay
Muriel E. Barzelay, 91, died at home in Southampton on Wednesday, January 26.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, at 3 p.m. at Parrish Memorial Hall in Southampton. Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice.
