Hampton Bays native Justin (Robert) Francis Scerbo died on May 28 at his home in Industry, Maine. He was 53.
Born in Hampton Bays on December 13, 1954, to Nicholas Scerbo and Marguerite R. Colvin Scerbo Dahl, he was raised there and attended Sacred Hearts Catholic School in Southampton and graduated from East Hampton High School. His education continued through what his family described as his everyday desire to learn and do new things.
In 1980, he married Leiza Ann Hiltz of Farmington, Maine, and a year later the couple built their home in Industry. There Mr. Scerbo became a fixture in the community, working as an accomplished carpenter, electrician, machinist, computer technician, software specialist and violin maker. A man of many interests and hobbies, he was an avid snowmobiler and past president of the Northern Lights Snowmobile Club.
In addition to his wife of 28 years, he is survived by a son, Christopher Justin Scerbo of Maine.
Funeral services were held on June 7 at Wiles Funeral Home in Farmington. The date of interment of ashes at Southampton Cemetery will be announced in a future edition of The Press.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Lights Snowmobile Club, c/o Brenda Fronk, 198 Titcomb Hill Road, Farmington, ME, 04938 would be appreciated by the family.
