Leona D. Walton, a lifelong resident of Amagansett, died on April 12 at Stony Brook University Hospital. She was 49.
Born December 2, 1958, at Southampton Hospital to Lillian (née Just) Walton and Robert A. Walton, both of whom predeceased her, Ms. Walton had Down Syndrome.
She is survived by two sisters, Michelle “Midge” Chatfield and Adele “Dee Dee” Walton of Amagansett; and a brother, Robert J. Walton of Springs.
Visitation was held on April 14 at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A graveside service was held on April 15 at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in East Hampton. In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Special Players, P.O. Box 232, East Hampton, NY 11937 or Elsa’s Ark, Inc., P.O. Box 2900, East Hampton, NY 11937 would be appreciated by the family.
