Kathe Tanous Levenson
Longtime East Hampton summer resident Kathe (née Tanous) Levenson of Bokeelia, Florida, died on September 17 at Southampton Hospital of pulmonary disease. She was 67.
Born October 6, 1942, in Burbank, California, to Helen (née Smith) and Henry Tanous, she was a multi-talented artist, practicing as a painter, author, cartoonist and caricaturist. Her work has been on display at the Elaine Benson Gallery, Arlene Bujese Gallery and the Wally Findlay Galleries. In addition, she worked as a cartoonist for The Southampton Press.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Levenson of East Hampton and Florida; two stepsons, Keith Levenson of Pound Ridge and Seth Levenson of Utah; a brother, Ronald Tanous and his wife Patty, of California; and a sister, Dorothy Tanous of India.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
