To stay or to go?
The new Hamptons Standard Kitchen, Market and Bar in Hampton Bays can satisfy the commuter in need of a quick coffee fix or the party-of-five looking to sit down and enjoy their meal.
That concept was the inspiration for restaurateur Salvatore Biundo, who also owns Centro Trattoria & Bar, an Italian restaurant in Hampton Bays.
“The concept is clean, easy, modern American,” media director Abigail Schutte said. “Basically, [Mr. Biundo] wanted a place where people could come more than once a week or even more than once a day.”
And from May 2018 to now, the restaurant has transformed from a vacant space that was once a Friendly’s to that casual concept.
Hamptons Standard is a place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dinner menu ranges from burgers to a bowl of mussels. Even the dining area provides a casual atmosphere, with its wooden tables and marble bar.
“The menu is really diverse, with lots of choices,” Ms. Schutte said. “[Mr. Biundo] just wanted to see something affordable, something that Hampton Bays didn’t really have, clean and modern, but also accessible.”
And Hamptons Standard’s team is hoping to bring more of those options to the East End area.
“There’s nothing like that in that area,” Ms. Schutte said. “There’s nothing easy that you can just pop in to that’s accessible.”
With time, the Hamptons Standard’s team is planning to include brunch and a “social hour,” bringing light bites, drink specials and signature cocktails to the table.
Hamptons Standard is located at 149 West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays
