Garden Center Hosts Open House

author on Apr 18, 2016

Free refreshments, pizza, yoga and music will be on tap this weekend at an open house at Groundworks @ Hrens in East Hampton.

The outdoor living and garden center, on the grounds of the former Jos. A. Hren on Montauk Highway, will be ushering in spring with Adirondack chairs and other furniture, gifts, new indoor and outdoor showrooms, custom-made fences and pergolas, patio and walkway materials, outdoor kitchens and fireplaces—and, of course, plants, from annuals to perennials to shrubs, to ornamental trees, specimens and evergreens.

The pizza, which is available Saturday only, will be made in pizza ovens on-site. Yoga by the pond will be offered at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, and there’s a new playground area for kids to explore. Those who spend at least $100 will receive a free 12-inch planter during the open house Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Groundworks Landscaping, which is headquartered at the property, was the winner of a national landscape grand award of excellence last year—one of only 117 awarded nationally—for a project in Montauk.
