Chris Calderone, a building project manager for the Barn & Vine housing development in Bridgehampton, has won a trip to Las Vegas to attend the 2015 NAHB International Builders Show in January.
Mr. Calderone, of Continental Pinewood Development Partners, entered a contest held by Huber Engineered Woods, an engineered materials business based in New Jersey, in which he explained the success he had in using the company’s AdvanTech subflooring panels. Mr. Calderone said he used them on all of the 37 houses in the Barn & Vine project while they were being constructed, adding that the panels held up very well during inclement weather before the houses were closed in. They were particularly good at withstanding damage from all the snow that hit the South Fork last winter, he said.
“When you’re custom-building houses, especially at this level, you want to use the best products you can,” Mr. Calderone said last week. “This subfloor product holds up a lot better than plywood. You get better results.”
According to a press release from Huber, Mr. Calderone was one of more than 100 people who entered the contest. He received airfare and hotel accommodations for two for the NAHB Builders Show, a trade show for design and construction professionals.
