Barbara Ann Schumpf of East Quogue Dies January 5

Barbara Schumpf of East Quogue died peacefully on January 5. She was 83.

She was born in Typo, Kentucky on May 18, 1939. She was the daughter of Raleigh Coomer and Lela C. Gabbard.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur C. Schumpf Sr. She is survived by her children, Edward, Arthur, Keith, Cynthia and Laura, brothers James, Glen and Richard; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, January 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home located at 20 Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 10 a.m. at Westhampton United Methodist Church at 116 Montauk Highway in Westhampton. A burial with military honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children (stjude.org).
