Katherine Anne Lehman, known as “Katie,” of Westhampton Beach died on July 29. She was 26 and had cystic fibrosis.
A strong advocate for others with the disease, she was a big supporter of community activities that raised money for the cause. She enjoyed the beach, crafting and journaling, and was an advocate for homeless and shelter animals.
Ms. Lehman is survived by her mother, Mary Lehman of Westhampton Beach; her father, George Lehman of Las Vegas; her sisters, Erin and Gaby Lehman of Westhampton Beach; her grandparents, Margaret and William Kearns of Westhampton Beach; her best friend, Amanda Innocente of Westhampton; an aunt, Sarah “Yayi” Kearns of Westhampton; uncles, John Kearns of Eastport and Sherman Kearns of Wading River; and many cousins and friends.
A funeral Mass was held at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on August 3. Burial was on August 7 in East Quogue.
