Paul M. Gustafson Jr.
Paul M. Gustafson Jr. of East Quogue died at his home on August 4 after a long battle with cancer. He was 69.
Mr. Gustafson was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, on June 15, 1943, to Paul and Della Gustafson. He served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam and Okinawa.
After his military service, he worked for Grumman Aircraft for 27 years, serving as an aircraft mechanic and flight test coordinator. He was an avid fisherman and a dedicated sound engineer for the Glorification Singers.
Mr. Gustafson is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Carol; his son, Paul Gustafson III and his wife JoAnn of Hampton Bays; two daughters, Amie Whitmore and her husband William of Virginia, and Karin Surratt and her husband Jason of Tennesee; and a brother, William Gustafson and his wife April of Massachusetts. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Paul and Luke Gustafson, Kirk, Acacia and Denielle Whitmore, and Nathan and Morgan Surratt. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Elaine White.
A wake was held at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Wednesday, August 8. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, at 6 p.m. at the Westhampton Methodist Church.
