Philip H. Bucking of Sag Harbor died on September 15 in Bangor, Maine. The owner of the Sag Harbor Variety Store, he was 67.
Born August 24, 1941, in Babylon, to Lorraine (née Albin) and Philip H. Bucking, he attended the State University of New York at Farmingdale. A trained engineer, he worked at the Bulova Watch Company in Sag Harbor before becoming proprietor of the Sag Harbor Variety Store.
He was a member of the Sag Harbor Lions Club and the Noyac Sportsman’s Club and was a past president of the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Roseann (née Musicaro) Bucking of Sag Harbor; a daughter, Lisa Field of East Hampton; three sons, Philip Bucking and his wife Diane of Sag Harbor, James Bucking and his wife Cathy of Massachusetts, and Greg Bucking of Brooklyn; two sisters, Elizabeth Kreisler and Joan Cotton; two brothers, Russell and Paul Bucking; six granddaughters, Elizabeth, Laura, Sara, Grace, Katie and Heidi; and two grandsons, Christopher and Stephan.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the CorMaria Retreat House, P.O. Box 1993, Sag Harbor, New York 11963 or Stella Maris Regional School, 135 Division Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963 would be appreciated by the family.
