No heat wave in these parts yet—except for the red-hot real estate market in the Village of East Hampton that began earlier in the spring. Reporting on sales of $7 million properties would take way too long, even for 27east’s loyal readers, so here are a handful that have exceeded that figure in just the last few weeks.

Top of the list goes to 12 Heller Lane, which was purchased by a limited liability company for $10,500,000. The new 7,752-square-foot home has 7 bedrooms and 7 full and 2 half baths. Sited on more than an acre of land, the residence faces south toward the ocean. The first floor includes a gourmet eat-in kitchen with custom banquette sitting area and fireplace, butler’s pantry, formal dining room, living room with fireplace, and a junior master suite, with all the primary rooms opening through French doors to the outdoor pool and dining areas. The second floor includes a large master suite with a custom walk-in closet, sitting room/study, and three additional en-suite bedrooms. A large mahogany deck overlooking the pool is shared by three of these bedrooms. Access to all three levels is from the central staircase or the elevator. The finished lower level includes two additional en-suite bedrooms plus an oversized recreation room, inclusive of a kitchen/bar area with fireplace for casual entertaining, a full-size gym, and powder room. A pool house serves the pool area with bathroom and entertaining facilities.

Next up is 33 Ocean Avenue, with $9,400,000 enabling that transaction. Built in 1975, the home was designed by Robert A.M. Stern and features 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms in 7,500 square feet of living space. There are views of Hook Pond, bleached wood floors, a second-floor master wing with ocean views, and a heated pool and spa—all on 3 acres of land. The property once belonged to sculptor Norman Mercer and his wife, garden designer Carol Mary Mercer. Mr. Mercer designed Lucite sculptures, while Mrs. Mercer designed gardens that went on to be featured in many publications, including Hallmark’s calendar of roses. Mr. Mercer passed away in 2007, and Mrs. Mercer passed away in November of 2016. The buyers were Richard Moran and Jeffrey L. Gates, who is founder and president of Gates Capital Management, hedge fund with $3.6 billion in assets.

There has been an uptick in activity on Cove Hollow Road. A closing was just held for #204, which sold to an LLC for $3,900,000. But the bigger bucks, all $8,750,000 of ’em, went to #234 down the road, also purchased via an LLC. On 1.25 acres is a 6,300-square foot house with 8 bedrooms and 10.5 baths. On the first floor are a great room and den and family room connecting to the fully outfitted kitchen, all warmed by fireplaces. A formal dining room bolstered by butler’s pantry, guest master suite, a pair of powder rooms, and covered porch complete the first floor. Upstairs the expansive master wing runs from the front to the back of the residence offering bath with steam shower and heated floors, his and her closets, and a cozy sitting room. Four additional en-suite bedrooms accommodate weekend entertaining. The finished lower level adds nearly 3,000 square feet and is complete with a media room as well as wine cellar, gym with full spa bath, recreational rooms, and a pair of staff suites sharing another full bath. Outside, a built-in kitchen can be found on the broad covered porch while a cabana overlooks the pool, spa, and 4-car detached garage.

The manse at 19 Ruxton Road has sold for $8,250,000. The two-story, 11,800-square-foot residence has 9 bedrooms and 9.5 baths on 2.3 acres. Also designed by Robert A.M. Stern, the finished lower level has bedrooms and baths, wine cellar, gym, media room, and billiard room to complement the main living space. The grounds include a heated swimming pool and pool house with a variance for tennis.

One more: 56 Middle Lane, which was purchased by Laura Lazarus and Saul Goldstein for $7,775,000. The home is on just under 2 acres, with an adjacent shy 2-acre parcel, also available. The 6,000-square-foot residence has 6 bedrooms, 7.5 baths, heated swimming pool, pool house, spa, detached 3-car garage, and tennis court. Additionally, there are an eat-in kitchen, formal living room, dining room, sun room, second living room, and a total of three fireplaces.
