Amagansett Free Library and the East Hampton Historical Society present a live virtual panel discussion of 20th century modern Hamptons architecture on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m.

Design and architecture professionals will promote the preservation of works by renowned architects including Richard Meier, Robert A.M. Stern, Charles Gwathmey and Norman Jaffe. The event was prompted by Timothy Godbold’s initiative Hamptons20centurymodern, which is dedicated to celebrating and protecting mid-century American modernist architecture on Long Island.

The panelist are Bruce Nagel, architect; Sarah Kautz, the preservation director at Preservation Long Island; Maureen Erbe, a real estate agent specializing in architectural properties in Los Angeles and Palm Springs and a board member of Palm Springs Modernism Week; David Netto of David Netto Design; Ellin Saltzman, the owner of Richard Meier-designed Renny & Ellin Saltzman House; Geoff Gehman, arts journalist; and Alastair Gordon, an architecture and design critic and author.

Grace Beuley Hunt, the home and lifestyle editor for Luxe Interiors + Design, will moderate.

To attend the event live on Zoom, register at amagansettlibrary.org. For more information on the initiative, visit hamptons20centurymodern.org.
