With working parents and all those who like to eat right but don’t have time to cook in mind, Annie’s Organic Café on Nugent Street in Southampton is now offering “Grab and Go Dinners.”

Available for pickup will be such family favorites as old-fashioned turkey meatloaf with savory tomato glaze; kid-friendly whole wheat pasta with meatballs; hearty soups; stuffed peppers; coconut curried chicken and rice; Baja Southwestern lasagna; quinoa primavera; and vegetarian selections—all organic.

Patrons can fax in their orders to 631-377-3612, call ahead to 631-377-3607, or stop in to Annie’s by 6:30 and pick up the grab and go dinners. For deliveries to local businesses in Southampton Village, call 377-3607 before 5:30.

Fall Harvest Beer Dinner

Southampton Publick House is hosting its annual Fall Beer Dinner on Thursday, October 8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person (including tax and tip) and reservations are required; call 631-283-2800.

Executive Chef Carl Holfelder has prepared a tasting hour and four-course dinner featuring local seafood, cheeses and duck paired with complementary Southampton ales and lager.

During the tasting hour, guests will sample Southampton Oyster Company oysters paired with Double White, smoked and cured meats paired with Altbier and assorted cheeses from Catapano Dairy Farms in Peconic paired with IPA.

Dinner will begin with a first course of provincial tomatoes with fresh mozzarella paired with Southampton Saison, followed by a second course of smoked Long Island duck breast from Jurgielewicz Duck Farm in Moriches with endives and braised peaches coupled with North Fork Fresh Hops Ale.

The evening’s main course will be oven-roasted pork loin with stuffed wild mushrooms and whipped Yukon Gold potatoes served with the 2009 Oktoberfest Lager. Homemade butterscotch cheesecake with Southampton Pumpkin Ale concludes this menu celebrating autumn and the best in craft beer.

The Southampton Publick House, located in Southampton Village on the site of historic Herb McCarthy’s Bowden Square, was established in July 1996 as the first and only microbrewery/restaurant on the East End of Long Island.
