The two former owners of the acclaimed East Hampton mansion known as “Goose Creek” will duke it out in Suffolk County Supreme Court on November 25, according to the New York Post.
Robert Felner, a 25-percent owner, is suing his former business partner Bryan Bantry, a majority owner, for millions of dollars he said he never received from property rentals, including one summer when the mansion was rented for $500,000.
Mr. Bantry rented the home out for A-list affairs including movie shoots, photo shoots and movie premiers with guests like Jake Gyllenhaal, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jerry Seinfeld in attendance. But the majority owner contends that Goose Creek was operating at a loss and that Mr. Felner is allowed only a percentage of those losses.
The 19,000-square-foot manse is located off Georgica Pond and features a 110-seat screening room, a lower-level swimming pool as well as an outdoor pool, a lower-level bar, and a gym, among other bells and whistles. It was originally put on the market for $26 million, but it sold two years ago for $10.55 million. Proceeds from the sale have been held in escrow awaiting the final decision in court.
