An modern oceanfront residence built in 2018 on an acre in Montauk has sold for $17.35 million.
Designed by Anastasia Ratia, a Finnish architect and interior designer who is the granddaughter of the founders of textile company Marimekko, the six-bedroom house is solar-powered with geothermal heat and central air conditioning and was constructed with custom materials and systems throughout.
The common living room/dining room, den and open kitchen are well-lit by southern exposure, the listing states, and reclaimed painted oak floors “create a country ambiance.”
The second-floor master suite has a large bathroom and walk-in closet. On the finished lower level, find a theater, wine closet, playroom, steam bath, salt rock sauna and Barre studio.
Also among the home’s amenities are radiant heat, an air purification system, a generator, and, outdoors, organic landscaping with a secret pathway to the beach staircase, an infinity edge pool with spa, and a reclaimed wood sundeck. Plus, the two-car garage comes with a Tesla charger.
The property has 125 feet of shoreline, and the house itself is up at cliff height.
The last asking price was $18.95 million, so the final sales prices works out to an 8.4 percent discount. It went into contract back on June 30, according to Brown Harris Stevens, and the deal closed on August 26, according to The Real Estate Report Inc., which identified the seller as Surfside-Hersey LLC and the new owner as Michael Goodwin.
Peter M. Turino, the president and principal broker of Brown Harris Stevens of the Hamptons, represented the seller, and Rylan Jackla of Sotheby’s represented the buyer.
