Norma Reynolds Sotheby’s International Realty has been bought by another Sotheby’s affiliate after 40 years in business in Westhampton Beach. The new owner is Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, founded in 1922 and based in Cold Spring Harbor, which now can boast 28 offices spread throughout Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. Daniel Gale already has a strong presence on the North Fork and Shelter Island, and the new addition is its first Hamptons office.
“We are elated to announce our acquisition of a legacy company in one of the top real estate markets in the world,” said Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty President and CEO Patricia J. Petersen. “This is an amazing opportunity that allows us to connect two highly relevant markets, and gives us a platform to expand west along the South Shore.”
Norma Reynolds founded her namesake real estate brokerage in 1977, and it became a Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate in 1999. Now her daughter, Vicky Reynolds, serves as president.
“I’m calling this an ideal marriage,” Vicky Reynolds said of the acquisition by Daniel Gale. “There is without question no better brand for us to align ourselves with than Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty. Not only do we share the same business principles and operate in areas that perfectly complement each other; if we needed another reason, we share the same powerhouse Sotheby’s International Realty affiliation.”
Sotheby’s International Realty is a franchise luxury real estate brand that started as an offshoot of Sotheby’s Auction House in 1976.
Norma Reynolds’s 15 agents will continue to work in the same Westhampton Beach office, at 100 Main Street, which will be called the “Norma Reynolds Division” of Daniel Gale.
