See ya later, Atherton.

Sagaponack elbowed out that California burg for top spot in a list of 2015 most expensive zip codes in the nation in a list released by Property Shark, a real estate website, this week.

As of November, Atherton was holding number one in a similar list compiled by Forbes, with Sagaponack in second place.

No more. Using sale prices from the entire year, Property Shark on March 9 declared Sagaponack to be the nation’s “undisputed leader” with what it called an “impressive” median home sale price of $8.5 million.

“As expected, moving around properties is difficult under the circumstances, and not a lot of homes are sold in this exclusive community in the Hamptons,” declared Property Shark, which noted only five sales in Sagaponack. “The price one has to pay is further and further out of reach for most buyers.”

The Forbes list released in November was based on an analyst’s review of asking prices for homes and condominiums over a rolling 90-day period.

On the Property Shark list, Atherton clocked in at only $5.9 million. Among others in the top 25 were Bridgehampton, in seventh place at $2.96 million, and Water Mill, which was 13th at $2.68 million.
