The Terry Cottage, which was restored and updated as part of The Latch Southampton Village development plan, has sold for $6.45 million. The deed transfer recording was reported on Thursday, June 30, just one day before the new 20-unit development officially sold out with its last sale contract closing.

The exteriors of the main Latch building and the Terry Cottage, both designed by Stanford White of McKim, Mead & White around the turn of the 20th century, were preserved, earning the developer, the Beechwood Organization, a 2021 Smart Growth Award for Historic Preservation from Vision Long Island.

The Terry Cottage and The Latch are of the Federal Revival style, with Dutch Colonial touches. The facade projects were guided by architects James McMullan of Fleetwood & McMullan and Jason Poremba of Jason Thomas Architect, in consultation with village historian Zach Studenroth

The Terry Cottage is the only single-family home that was available as part of The Latch Southampton Village, which is located off Hill Street. The 19 other units on the 5-acre site are all condominiums: two units contained within the original Latch building, which had been a 40-room inn, and 13 brand new shingle-style town homes and four new villas.

The Terry Cottage sits on an acre with a private entrance and a pool.

The new owners are Debra and Robert Quigley, according to The Real Estate Report Inc. The deal closed May 25.

Mary Slattery of Corcoran had the listing.
